Just watched the last half of Baby Doll on TCM. Next up is "Elia Kazan: A Director's Journey" then On the Waterfront followed by Splendor in the Grass.

I liked the way AMC used to do their director spotlights. In prime time they would show the full screen version then show the wide screen version afterwards.

Anyhow, it's a pretty good line up on TCM tonight. Catch what you can. Here's one of my all time favorite lines:

"You don't give me much credit for intelligence sometimes. I've been to school in my life. I'm a magazine readuh!" - Carrol Baker as Baby Doll. (There's also a great line about how refined women shouldn't be called upon to do long division, but I can't remember it ver batim.) Tennessee Williams is duh bomb.
