Favorite Cross-Dressing Movie.

Was watching Mrs. Doubtfire, and it gave an idea for a poll.

There have been several attempts to pull gender crossing in the movies, and some have been more successful than others. Of the latest attempt, the lamest was probably Big Mama House with Martin Lawrence. Everything on him looks fake, even the breasts

IMO the best cross dresser is the one that get lost in the role and would not be recognizable. There are several movies that succeed in that category with favorite being Eddie Murphy in Nutty Professor II the Klump The role he played as his own mama and grandma is totally right on and one would not recognize that Eddie is under all that makeup.

My vote is for "Tootsie" out of respect for Sydney Pollack who I think was an underappreciated Director even though he did win one Academy Award for Best Director.
"Jeremiah Johnson" is still probably my favorite Robert Redford film.

Ooops, wrong kinda o' crossdressing film. I took "The Klumps" by a hair over "Some Like It Hot". Eddie still kills.

Even before I began scanning through the various posts on this thread, "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" popped into mind as the all-time best cross-dressing movie I've ever seen. It won the Academy Award for costume design (which it certainly deserved), and was absolutely hilarious from start to finish, with a few poignant moments here and there. To see Terrence Stamp, Guy Pearce and Hugo Weaving in those outrageous costumes, lip-synching to ABBA was some of the funniest stuff I've ever seen.

Sorry could not fit all mentioned movies in poll as it only allow 10 choices, beside I had to include Flip Wilson's Geraldin character in there somewhere, although she/he did not make a movie. But your selections are noted.

My vote was split between Tootsie (as Kid said, out of respect for Sydney Pollack who died last week) and Klump, but had to give it to Klump due to Eddy’s multiple personality in that movie.

Two mentioned movies I haven’t seen are "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" and “Rocky Horror Picture Show”, probably because the latter being a musical and not a big fan Tim Curry. Victor Victoria also pretty much hold on its own due to memorable performance of Robert Preston (if not for its cross dressing).

This was such a hard decision... I adore "Some Like It Hot", laughed my ass off watching "Mrs. Doubtfire", but ultimately I had to go with "Tootsie". I mean, come on, the realism???

As for the Klump films...must be a guy thing, I've never seen them!!

Thanks for the vote, but looks like Tootsie is almost ahead 2 to 1. It was on TMC last night and and it is still enjoyable to watch. And I wish they put out Flip Wilson show on DVD. Alot of great comedians and musicians on that show, including a memorable appearance by Louis Armstrong just before his death.

Not really a guy thing, it is just hilarious. I would skip the first one and go for the sequel. It is funnier of two movies.

I gotta go with Crying Game just because of the shock value. I hadn't heard about it and a friend was just begging me to go see it (He already had seen once and wanted to see my reaction - and he got one).
