    Golden Globe Contest

Not that i'm a big fan of these awards, and am anxiously awaiting the documentary (coming out i think in february) which exposes this award show for what it really is, but, to pass the time, how about we see who can pick the most correct guesses of the "big" categories.

    Best Picture (drama): Cold Mountain
Best Picture (mus/com): Lost in Translation
    Actor (drama): Jude Law
    Actor (mus/com): Jack Nicholson
    Actrees (drama): Nicole Kidman
    Actress (mus/com): Diane Keaton
    Director: Anthony Minghella
    Screenplay: In America
    Foreign Film: Monsieur Ibrahim

You can check out the nominees at the golden globes website (http://www.thegoldenglobes.com) and we'll see who picks the most correct. Now these are ALL based on my own guesses as to who the 'hollywood foreign press' is likely to pick, not my own personal picks. We should have another category for those.

I like Bill Murray's chances for "Lost in Translation".

Here's how i think it shakes out at the Globes:

Drama - Cold Mountain, though LOTR wouldn't surprise me based on the collection of the trilogy

    Musical/Comedy - Finding Nemo

    Actor, Drama - Law

    Actor Musical/Comedy - Bill Murray

    Actress, Drama - Kidman

    Actress, Musical/Comedy - Keaton

    Director - Jackson for LOTR

Screenplay - Cold Mountain by Minghella

don't have a clue for foreign films.

    what a boring show.

yama wins! nailed a few of them. but wow, that was just plain boring.

although i did like the guy from The Office, he added some much needed humor to the surprisingly lifeless crowd.
