Actually, the whole thread kinda blew up before I even took a look at what was going on! Terrence, JSE, and several others on this board have seen Lex's periodic flameouts before. If you really want to go old school, look up the old AR forums and see Lex's trolling when he used to post under the screen name "To Live And Die In NY" in the Home Theater forum, and his subsequent denials when he reemerged on the board under his current moniker. One thread after another asking about how to calibrate an Onkyo TX-SR600 without using a SPL meter. His responses were quite comical and all too predictable, just as they have been on this thread.

You're right, if Lex makes a definitive statement about a technical aspect of a dvd that is incorrect, then in the interest of potential consumers it should be corrected. But we all know what's gonna happen afterwards.

As far as the credentials go, I have my own beliefs about that, but I would rather not debate them. It's amusing to a point, but I can see where a newbie might be...well, you know what I mean.

Los Lobos - Live at the Filmore. Even if you don't like Los Lobos, you will like this DVD. Awesome sound and they really rock. Yes, they rock!

This article might be of interest. It discusses how the 5.1 mix for that Los Lobos DVD was done. Sounds very interesting, and I don't have any concert DVDs that were done at the Fillmore. I've seen several concerts there, and it's a great venue.

The article also discusses the Boz Scaggs DVD that I mentioned earlier. Interesting point in that article about how sound engineers are shying away from heavily using the center channel in concert DVD soundtracks.
