Cool Tough as Nail Females Roles.

Memorable strong female roles can be as enticing as their male counter part roles.

    Not in any particular order:

Misery (1990): You don’t want to get Kathy Bates mad at you! She can get real nasty.

Johnny Guitar (1954): In this western, Joan Crawford don’t need no protection from law, or the outlaws.

Heroic Trio (1993): Charlie’s Angels from hell.....and hell is coming with them.

Godfather III (1990): Connie (Talia Shire) will do anything to protect her brother Michael, even if it mean assassination.

When I saw your title, the first movie I thought of was Aliens. Ripley was a badass.

I actually feel Kathy Bates was a much stronger woman in Deloris Claiborn. She protected her daughter and didn't take crap from anyone in town, including the detective. In Misery, she was simply psychotic and I dunno if crazy=strong?

The pinnacle of strong female leads, both physically and mentally, must be Sarah Conner (Linda Hamilton) in T2.

    a few more.....

Jodie Foster - THE BRAVE ONE and of course SILENCE OF THE LAMBS.

HIllary Swank - MILLION DOLLAR BABY even though I didn't particular care for the film.

Uma Thurman - KILL BILL series for very obvious reasons.

Dina Meyer - STARSHIP TROOPERS is one crazy bug killer!

Pam Grier COFFY - sexy and cool rolled into one.

Kristanna Loken - Don't mess with this chick!

Anne Parillaud - LA FEMME NIKITA is one super assassin.

Julia Robets - ERIN BROCKOVICH don't take crap from anybody!

Mira Sorvino - REPLACEMENT KILLERS is equally as tough as Chow Yun Fat in this one!

Demi Moore- as a Navy Seal

    Meg Ryan- Courage Under Fire

Both were very good in their roles. Not over the top "tough" but tough enough to make you say "Wow".

I see more and more women taking combat roles in our current conflicts, so it's not unbeliveable the courage that Meg Ryan showed as a downed helicopeter pilot in the movie.

How 'bout Sigourney Weaver as Ripley in the Alien trilogy? Anyone who can face down a 12 ft. tall acid-oozing lizard from hell has got my vote!

    I would.
So, I broke into the palace
With a sponge and a rusty spanner
She said : "Eh, I know you, and you cannot sing"
I said : "That's nothing - you should hear me play piano"
