I saw Javier Bardem in a movie directed by John Malkovich called The Dancer Upstairs. Loved it. I knew the first time I saw this movie that this guy was going to be an international star. He showed up in that movie with Tom Cruise with the ridiculous premise that a contract killer takes a contract to kill something like 5 witnesses all over LA on the same night. Then kill an federal asst DA, for whatever the hell reason. Good lookin movie, shot in hi-def, hardly a believable story, however. Small, unspectacular part. But, now, the dude shows up as the protagonist in the Coen Brothers latest. I knew I was in good company. I'll be seeing this flick.
