Clint Eastwood favorite movies

Clint Eastwood is also a good director, but these are the movies that he had the lead role.

For a Few Dollars More (1965): I though this [sequel] movie was better film than his first starring role in Fistfull Of Dollars.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly (1966): O'clocking at 3 hour long, there is no dull moment.

Magnum Force (1973): IMO this is his best film in the series as dectective Harry Callahan. The famous line "A good man always know his limitation".

Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (1974): Although Jeff Bridges and George Kennedy stole this movie, Eastwood was content with it.

The Gauntlet (1977): This is one of his lesser known film as Eastwood plays a down-and-out cop assigned to escort a witness from Las Vegas to Phoenix in order for her to testify against the mob.

Any Which Way You Can (1980): Comedy films is not Eastwood's trade mark, but there are too many whacked charactors for this movie not to be funny.

Firefox (1982): This film take too long to get started. But once it gets going it is a blast.

Heartbreak Ridge (1986): Starring as Gunnery Sergeant Thomas Highway, he whips bunch of rookies into marines.

A Perfect World (1993): A road trip movie with Kevin Costner as escaped convict and Eastwwod on his tale.

That's probably my favorite; the close runner up would be For a Few Dollars More. The are a lot of Eastwood flicks I haven't seen, though.

The only one in that list that might be on my list is Heartbreak Ridge.

Outlaw Josie Wales & High Plains Drifter are my all time favorites. Hang Em High and Joe Kidd were good too.

I don't know if these can count but in the more later movies I liked Grand Torino and the one where he was body guard for the president.

Unforgiven was too slow for me. Have not seen that movie in a long time (don't have it in my collection), so may be it deserve another look :)

That movie would be In The Line Of Fire. Not a bad movie, but so perdictable and formulated.

The last movie I mention was loathed by several of my Marine buddies, but by the same token I never understood why any of them liked Top Gun (most of us squids loathed that movie). OutLaw Josie Wales had great characters in it. Clint was never afraid to let himself get upstaged if it propelled the story. High Plains Drifter had a knockout ending (provided you never saw it). As a kid, that last scene gave me goosebumps.

honorable mention: Bronco Billy, a kind of light-hearted, overtly sentimental paean to a dying genre (at the time). Released in 1980, I wonder if Cheers writers didn't pattern their Sam and Dianne relationship after Eastwood and then main squeeze Sandra Locke on-screen love/hate exchanges.
