Cast Gilligan's Island

Let's make the cast Gilligan's Island thread official. Mr. Peabody and I have been playing with this idea on another thread, but let's bring this game up to the forefront.

If a Gilligan's Island revival movie were to be made, who should it star? So far our suggestions are:

The Skipper: Jim Belushi

Gilligan: David Spade

The Professor: Larry King (?!), Ralph Fiennes

Mary Ann: Natalie Portman

Ginger: No suggestions yet

Mr. Howell: Eugene Levy, George Clooney

Mrs. Howell: Barbara Walters

So, who would you like to see in this movie? Agree with the above suggestions or make a suggestion of your own.

Rich may be on to something given the lackluster performance of TV-to-Movie adaptations. I suspect the casting could only be accomplished by using B-List/has-ben actors.I propose:

Skipper: Randy Quaid

Gilligan: Rob Schneider

The Professor: Adrian Pasdar

Mary Ann: Eva Longoria

Ginger: Charlize Theron

Mr Howell: Chevy Chase

Mrs. Howell: Goldie Hawn

hhhmm....I might even consider seeing this myself if there were enough "spiritual reinforcements" available.

I would love to see Chevy Chase & Goldie Hawn as the Howells.

Good laughs. Y'know, with today's technology that's not entirely out of the question.

Actually, if we're going through with such an idea, how's about getting Robin Williams back on the Peruvian flake to play all parts. Can you imagine watching Dame Judi's reaction--hilarious.

For Gilligan I thought of Ashton Kutcher.

How about Sandra Bullock as Mary Ann? An excellent Ginger maybe 20 years ago would have been Sophia Loren. Well I guess if we are in the way back machine, Ann Margaret would have to be in the running, but since we are talking about making the movie today, strike that last comment from the record.

Eddie Murphy and Wanda Sikes as the Howell's, now that would be a gas!

Kid, that's a pretty good cast. I like Steve Martin better as Mr. Howell and Rick Morantis would be a great professor. Unless we wanted to use the professor from the Back To The Future series.

Thanks, unfortunately if you tried to put this cast togehter you could not afford half of them and the other half probably would not agree to do the film. Jim Carrey might be little long in the tooth for Gilligan so if you want substitute Justin Long ( Justin-in the movie Dodge Ball)

Ben Stiller as Gilligan and his Dad as the professor... can you imagine that?

George & Barbara Bush as the Howell's!
