    Blu Ray review

Just as many on here, I am in the SLOW! process of replacing my VHS tapes with BR copies and here are two I have recently picked up:

My Favorite of the 3, I always felt it relied more on the plot and storying telling than the action. The BR had more of a throwback look to it than the razor sharp look of BR. It reminded me of a 70mm film, warm tones of skin colors (you notice it mostly during the planning part while they all sit around the table). The sound was only DD 5.1, but it must have been at a higher bitrate, for it jumped out and fill the room with even the lightest sounds. If you are a fan and do not have it on DVD, pick it up, you can get it new on Amazon for $10.00 or less.

I great part of American space race history, more of a docudrama than movie. The BR was very sharp for the most part, scenes in the home always look a little soft, scenes inside the capsule were very vivid. Sound was very good clear dialog and the right amount of LEF when needed.

    Hmmm...

I don't know why but I'm always surprised when folks mention replacing VHS tapes with DVD or Blu Ray. Why? I dunno, it's like I can't imagine anyone and I do mean ANYONE still possessing any kind of video library except for family movies or porn. And most of the family movies are being moved over to DVD at various converter joints in my neck of the woods. I mean only the use of an 8 track would surprise me more.
