    Best technology moments in film

Guardian magazine in UK asked its readers to choose their favourite films where technology is crucial, but done just right given the time when it's set. Here are 10 of the best …

Westworld… 'For near human looking robots'

Silent Running …A future in which all plant life on Earth has been made extinct.

Soylent Green …'The film 'was this close to nailing how mobile phones would work properly'

Children Of Men … 'An utterly believable next step for how London streets will look'

Colossus: The Forbin Project … 'A computer takes over the world (successfully) by tricking man stage by stage.'

Contact … 'By far the most scientifically convíncing sci-fi film I've ever seen.'

Hackers … 'Phoning up a company he's trying to hack posing as a network admin was clever and realistic.'

The Bourne Supremacy ...'When Bourne wants to find out about that Russian politician he killed, he just Googles the bloke's name'

War Games … Matthew Broderick communicates with WOPR, a US military supercomputer, using the real technology of the time.'

Moon...Compared with Stanley Kubrick's "2001", GERTY the robot (voiced by Kevin Spacey) works by impeccable logic, and emoticon interface.

Silent Running looked futuristic and realistic for its time. In fact, its still a decent movie.

Starship Troopers sure was precient when it comes to the way we get our info from the web now.
Repost this on your wall if you love Jesus.

    Very under rated movie.

While on subject of futurestic movies, always thought that wall size TV screen in the movie Total Recall looked pretty realistic as we are one step away from thin sheet size screens (OLED).

I would throw in Minority Report, Iron Man 1 and 2 into the ring.

The book "Daemon" By Daniel Suarez is a great sci-fi story using a realistic scenario of a Computer gone mad and waging war on humanity
