    LOL, now that's funny!!

Aliens: diectors cut was the first laserdisc I ever bought. I can't believe I used to buy lasers for $100 or more without a second thought and now I'll consider not buying a DVD because it's over $20.

That Quadrilogy boxed set is a nine-disc collection that packages all four of the two-disc special edition DVDs alongside a ninth disc that contains yet another set of bonus features. I'm with the others -- the last two Alien movies are not worth buying. The $70, the Quadrilogy is still fairly pricey, and the only reason for buying it rather than the individual titles would be that extra bonus disc, which includes a new hour-long documentary and a few extras ported over from previous LD releases.

Keep in mind that Fox has already re-released the Alien series as budget-priced single-disc versions, so if you are at all interested in any of the individual titles, you might need to pick up the two-disc special edition sets soon. The versions that came with the Quadrilogy set have those cardboard Digipacks, and only the first and fourth Alien movie come with DTS soundtracks.

By the way. I said what the hell and picked up the LOTR extended editions. I haven't even opened em yet. Waiting for a nice cold raining weekend or until I free up some serious time.
You're gonna love the LOTR extended cuts. You'll never be able to watch the theatrical versions again without feeling like you're missing something important. The DTS tracks are incredible!

I have the 4th on lasedisc only because, i got the DTS version at a bargin price & i have the 3rd one because of the director's cut which is really a better version with ripley dying without the alien busting out of her chest & the alien busting out of a COW ( if you can believe that ) instead of a dog. it's worth a look, but that's about it. the mood is still the same ending on a down note. as for the 4th, the DTS sounds good but that's the only thing good about it.

I picked up Aliens(Directors Cut) a couple of weeks ago. Man I forgot how good this movie was. I think Aliens was better, but this one was up there. It had me jumping out of my seat a few times.

Did you mean you picked up Alien? The perfect example of how mood and atmosphere can really set the stage. It's been said before, Alien was a great horror flick, Aliens was a great action flick. Two totally different ideas for a franchise that worked well on their own.

I agree. These were two very different movies. Both good in their own way.

oops. Yeah I meant Alien. I did not remember the movie so it was like my first time watching it. I even watched some of the extras, and I never do that. I'm gonna try and change that habit though so I can get the most for my money.
