Yahama RX-V2095, no digitial sound from PC

I can not get sound out of my Yahama rx-v2095 when I am using digital, (coax or optical), if my input is from my computer. Tried multiple computers, XP, Win 7. It will only work if I use analog inputs.
Yahama works fine if I use digital from DVD, CD players. Any ideas?

Are you trying to play MP3s? I believe that the RX-V2095 was introduced before MP3s became popular and does not support or decode it.

What type of codec is it then? WAV files or other PCM based audio should work, but other than that (e.g. MP3, WMA, FLAC, etc) may be a problem. Any reason why you need to have the audio decoded by the receiver?

Not sure what codec it is. Just all sound signals coming from sound card or from motherboard(different pc's) won't work, except in analog. Tried digital signal with receiver ext. decoder switch both on and off. Tried different "bit depth" and frequency, no luck.
