    Toshiba 3950 as transport
I been hearing tons of rave on AudioAsylum about this DVD player as a great CD transport. With the correct mods, this player has been said to better most players in the market. Does anyone know anything about this and what type of mods there are?

I have a stock one and consider it a great player overall, especially for the money. I think the old Pioneer stable platter units are better transports per se. The "Vinnie" mods replace the opamp and stock caps, both signal and power supply. The "Swenson" mods apply a simple filter to the analog signal prior to going to the opamp and bypass the signal at the output jack. Some dampen the admittedly flimsy plastic case.
