In converting analog files from casettes to digital, I sometimes adjust the tempo of a performance with CoolEdit. The resulting files seem alright when played on the computer, but when burned to CD exhibit occasional static on playback. This is not caused by multi-tasking during the burning of the CD-- because I have learned to leave the machine alone during the burn process. What can be done in Cooledit to preserve the tonal quality?
