Best way to connect computer to speakers?

Okay you comp-audio buffs....I'm almost finished my latest speaker project, just waiting for some drivers to arrive. Gonna have 2 small near-field monitors and an 8" sub.

What's the easiest/best way to connect it to my M-Audio sound card? I have a power amp I'm not using, can I run the L/R analog outs from the card straight to the amp? Or will I need a pre-amp stage? Not sure how strong the voltage signal is in these things.

If that's the case, I'll probably start looking for an ancient Dolby Digital reciever - cheapest money can buy. and just use that.

I initially ran my M-Audio Delta 410 directly to the amp. I now have a Xantech ZPR68 so I can route multiple sources to the right amp, but that's just an audio-switcher.
