Blackraven, how is the 640c? How would you compare it to the 8003? Sorry to be a pain in the ass, but i just want to weigh my options, does it compare similar to the more expensive Cambridge Audio players?

Tony, go with the Marantz. If you were considering the 740c or the 840c, I would recommend those over the Marantz for their better detail, transparency and treble. The 8003 is a very good CDP, its has very good bass, clarity and warmth. Its tube like in sound IMO. Plus, it has the added benefit for 2ch SACD.

Thanks again, you guys have really put me on the right track.. I was also reading a lot of good reviews on the Rotel RCD 1072 and its going for USD560 at the moment.. The reviews were very good, but i wonder how good a player it really is? Anyone?

There are a lot of good CD players to choose from in the $500 + price range... The Rotel is a one of many good CD players... It would have a good synergy with your Rotel Integrated and would be a step up from your Marantz CD5001...

At the end of the day, you'll just have to take a chance and pick one... if you have the opportunity to audition any, then I suggest you do so first...
