Looking for small-size CD Player

I recently purchased a vintage Proton 300/301 table radio w/ powered separate stereo speaker for use in a bookshelf and am looking for a CD player to match w/ this terrific-sounding, but modest system. Chief constraints are size (<10 in. deep) and price (<$300). Any suggestions?

I don't know if this is true but some one was trying to tell me the PS1 is a good player. Maybe they were speaking of in the entry level realm. If it's true though you could get one for hardly any cost and they are small. As long as it wasn't terrible it would be good for what you are doing.

I just bought one of those radios from Craigslist. The guy wanted $15.00 but I gave him $20.00 since he brought it to my house. The alarm stuff don't work and it's a bit rough, just what the doctor ordered for my cubicle at work. it will sound good and looks bad enough hopefully no one will be tempted to permanently borrow it.
