    High Quality Vinyl Conversion Service
I have some vinyl records that I want to be able to play in the car and in iTunes. I have a good quality Mac Mini based computer audio/video system. My old turntable was damaged when moving and I don't want to deal with the hassle of getting it fixed, buying a new cartridge, etc. I don't have any recording gear and don't really want to do it myself. I found a number of services on the net, but most of them don't seem like good quality. Anyone ever use They seem to have quality gear and their prices are within my budget. I saw one firm that wanted over $100 to convert a record. That's way out of my budget.

Have you considered buying the CD format of these albums?

Converting can be done simply at home. You of course need a functioning table and something like this...

Thanks for the suggestion, poppachubby, but the albums aren't on CD. I'm itching to get some high quality digitized vinyl into my system, but I don't really want to invest in a turntable and recording setup at this time. I don't expect to do more than 10-20 records.

My last suggestion is to hit a WalMart and purchase their ION USB turntable. Rip your vinyl and then take advantage of their return policy.

Here's a link but I think you should go into the brick and mortar store to purchase and return.

It won't be the end in fidelity, but it will be respectable and get the job done.

I would second Pops suggestion except you might want to consider for a lttle more money the Sony USB TT. The software it comes with is very user friendly and produces some great X-fers. I own one and on a good LP people who have listened to my copies did not know they were listening to a recorded LP.
