    hi-de-fi
Good DVD or CD for say $600.00 or less.
    Hi guys,
Just joined AR a minuit ago,
My name is Colin and I am an old hi fi nut, I thought I had got rid of
this decease about 10 years ago but it come back worst than ever,
(oh i sound like i'me talking to the doctor here) however getting to the point i'me looking for a DVD player that has HDMI, Volume control for 5.1 analog outs and most importantly first class sound.
I could get by without the vol control as I could feed it through a proccesor.
I bought a $200 Toshiba a few months ago that has the above but no volume, it sounds supprisingly good but the HDMI is worst than the component side.
I have listened to Pioneer Elite ($400) and Cambridge but could not form an oppinion on ither although I could nail it fairly quickly
in my system at home, the video side might be even tougher in a store. Denon players seem to apeal to me even though there web site is crap
    .But any suggestions are wecome
    Thanks Colin, BC Canada

I don't know of too many -- at any price point -- that have volume control.

That said, both Denon and Marantz are very good. I like Pioneer, but I realize it's not for everyone.
