digital cd to reciever

    digital cd to reciever
    i have a cd player with digital (optical) out going to my jvc reciever but cannot get no sound.are there any basics with these type of configurations,as far as the dsp,surround sound,there are a frickin lot of settings on this reciever and i believe it is in the settings and not the hook ups,
    i do have the digital in seting on the reciever set to 1=dvd,2=cd,as it is labeled on the back of the reciever.
    if you know of more info i should be telling of please tell me so i can add it,

    If your receiver does not have a built in D/A converter you will need to use the audio out from your cd player to the cd audio in on your receiver.

    Your receiver should have input selections. You'll need to have these set for digital in, or you'll need to change to anolog cables.

    Check your manual in the set up section.
