    Solid state Dac & tube cd plaer

    Can I use solid state Dac, which BenchmarkDac 1 with a tube cd player (want to buy) & will get good sound.

    Your sentance is a bit incoherent but I think you are asking if you can use a tube CD player with a Benchmark DAC1. The short answer is "yes", but I don't think this is really what you ought to do.

    First, the tube section of a tube CDP is placed after, (downstream), the CDP's own DAC; if you fed the signal out from the player to the Benchmark, you will completely bypass the player's tube section -- so what's the point of a tube CDP in this case??

    If you want "the tube sound," (1) use the tube CDP's own DAC and feed your amp from the the player's analog outputs. Alternately, (2) feed the Benchmark from any CDP's digital output, then feed the Benchmark's signal to a tube preamp. Or (3) to a device like one of these ...
