Analog audio input to portable PC?

    Hi everybody,

I'd like to use my portable computer to record analog music input (mics connected to my portable mixing board). However, my portable doesn't have a Line Input connection.

I understand I can get a USB input adapter for this. On eBay, I see a bunch of inexpensive devices with various names:

"USB Audio Apadpter External Sound Card"
"USB 2.0 to Audio Sound Adapter for PC/Laptop"
"USB Audio Microphone Adapter Virtual 5.1 Sound Card"

Is that what I'm looking for? Thanks for your advice.

I think so, but I've never used those products. Just make sure they have the kind of input you need (e.g. 1/4" inputs or whatever), or you'll have to get an adapter.
