My system is listed below on my sig and I have attached few pictures. Let me know how you would rate my system!! No blue ray yet not sure if its worth it yet with the quality of the Oppo's upscale quality what do you guys think about blueray?

    Hi Roger,

    Welcome to AR.
It doesn't matter what anyone else would rate your system. How do you rate it?
Your systems seems well balanced to me.

    Mike

    Oh, nice pics!

I think it sounds great , but I have not had anything better so I have nothing to compare it to. I just recently added the Sub and separate AMP for my front speakers and my system has definitely come to life sense.

That's all that matters. There will always be those guys who spend 100's of thousands on their systems. Those will sound better, but not 100 times better. If you have millions, then maybe you should upgrade. If not, what you have seems great.

Next up: Blu-ray. I use my PS3 for that, and it gives me so much more than just playing movies. Does your reciever have HDMI connections?

Looks like a nice setup to me.... and as far as Blu-ray is concerned, I highly recommend it, but it's your money.

I have a couple of PS3s but don't play video games (don't even own any!) because it's a great player... fast load times, easily upgradeable, etc....

You have to buy a device to make it accept IR remotes though, and it's kinda loud, oddly shaped, etc.... so you may prefer a standalone...

It's really about personal preference, but the Sony 350 is a good player.

Welcome Roger. Nice set up! Definitely go Blu-Ray. Most BR movies have fantastic pictures. You should consider the oppo Blu-Ray that will be coming out in the spring. It will do CD, SACD, DVD and BR. It looks like it will sell for about $500.

I like the AudioSource two-channel amp. Nice going, there. If you're on a thrifty budget. it's hard to go wrong with the Sony BDP-S350 for the Blu-ray. The picture looks great with Blu-ray but I'd still keep the Oppo in the setup for upscaling DVD if you have sufficient space and connections.

Hi Roger555, hi robmlisanti. I agree 100% with GMichael. Be carefull though, I've spent $1,000's on my home theater because of the people (and I use that term loosely) here, with no end in sight!

(And it just keeps getting better and better.)
