    Need Help.
    I recently brought a Elco power cord HPC-10SP for my Marantz SACD player.

    But I heard from a hifi shop owner telling me not to use less than 12 AWG for cd player, it will damage the transformer. As what I know my Elco power cord HPC-10SP is using 10 AWG, can u please advised ?

    Thanks.

    a 10 gauge cable is bigger than a 12 gauge cable. You're fine.
    feel better?

    Congrats on the new power cord.

    So, why would you need a massive cord? Better fidelity possibly.

    BUT;

    Your SACD player uses all of about 1 amp, it's not going to draw much current at all.
    Fidelity issues aside, you will NOT damage the transformer using the standard cord that came with your SACD player. .

    I believe a good power cord should improve the sound of my SACD player by some how.
    Anyway, I am new to hifi ever since I left this hobby 10 years ago. I am back again.

    My system consist of :
    Speaker - SF Concerto Home
    Integrated Amp - Accuphase E206
    SACD player - Marantz SA15S1

    I am using RS sliver for my speaker cable & crystal clear audio studio reference for my ic.

    My plan is to change my amp to a pre & power next year.

    So what do u think about my system ?
