please help with speaker cable DIY

ok, i didnt expect this curve ball.
i am assembling my own speaker cable and thought that as long as i chose which one is black and which is red i would be fine. but, as i am in the process i notice that one wire has a green thread (carol superflex speaker wire 12awg) and the other wire has no thread...is this trying to tell me something? does the thread designate red or black?

thank you for a fast response as im dying to finish up and plug them in.

you can run the thread into either red or black. its just a marker so you can tell what one goes to what one on the other end. just as a habit i usually put the side with a mark to the positive (RED). but it doesnt make any difference. both sides of the wire are exactly the same.

just as some wire one side is orange "copper" and one side is a silver color "tin" and people think this must stand for something but both sides are the same. and in this case habit again i run copper to red and tin to black, becuase orange is close to red. silver and black just look nice........
