does a "S-video to component" cable exist?

Looking for a 4 pin S-video to component cable

My father-in-law has a new plasma and an old Directv receiver. The best connection video wise from directv is S-video and his new plasma does not have S-video. He's not under contract with directv so he wants to keep the receiver.

Do they make such a cable? I've searched, but nothing found and think this may provide the best picture without changing equipment.

I don't know of any. If there was it would need to be some type of converter to split the single S-video into the 3 color streams of component. A HDTV upconverts to it's native resolution so you may be better off using a high quality composite video cable until getting a better satellite receiver. No matter the connection it will still only be 480i. He needs to upgrade, get in on one of those free equipment deals for signing on the dotted line.
