    Connect CPU to stereo

We just purchased a new home and had the electrician install RCA jacks to connect CPU to stereo. I had no trouble getting mp3s to play through stereo by connecting line out on CPU to tape in on receiver. However, I have a pair of outdoor speakers that are supposed to be connected to home run from cpu to stereo but i cannot seem to get them to work. Does anyone have any idea what i should do?

    What's home run?

Generally, connecting a sound card to a stereo is pretty simple. You get a cable wit ha 1/8" stereo mini plug on one end and two RCA plugs, usualy red and white, on the other end. Plufg the mini plug into your audio out (preferably linelevel) andthe RCA's to a free high level (Aux) input on your stereo. You're in business.

Fronm what you're sayng it seems you've done this and it works.

Dunno what kind of wires the guy ran or what's up with your speakers. Perhaps a little more detail on your part might help. This is a different matter entirely.
