    30 euros (45$) for a cable?

Just to connect the soundcard to the amplifer (1 minijack to RCA), a stupid investment? Could it really make a difference?

I guess it all depends how 'good' your sound card/amplifer are

I have an X-Fi soundcard, it's good but have a lots of software problems.. particularly with Vista and mine new hardware configuration.

I'm thinking on buying that cable or ditch enterely the Soundblaster and buy an external DAC with good RCA cables at 90 euros. This would be the DAC: http://www.roland.com/products/en/UA-1EX/index.html

At these price points I would forget a DAC and keep to your X-Fi's DAC. Unless it's giving you problems because of vista or whatever.
Did you get the speakers finally? What's your amplifier?

The amplifier will be here in 1 week I hope, for the speakers I have decided to keep the Tannoys, at least for now.

Onkyo A-9355, as soon as it arrives I will post, to you all, mine impressions on the amp section. It's too bad that I haven't found any opinion on it (at least I have something on the A-9555), I wanna be helpful for who will search for opinions on that amp after me.

Any correction is appreciated, hope to remember the lesson.
It's not easy to speak in a languange different from the native language, I tend to mix some italian in it.
