    How are the crossovers mounted? Geez, it'd be pretty hard to "ruin" a crossover just by taking it out....and even if you did, replacement components wouldn't be terribly expensive. Anyone who buys these is going to know how to solder anyway. Wonder what woofer they normall use? Sounds like a great fixer-up project.

    Drivers like the Heil are hard to get your hands on. I could see just tossing the cabinets and designing a new speaker around the Heil driver.
