    HT Couch

    I built one...
(bass shakers were on sale for $24 the other day @ parts express)

well... my couch is total junk... it looks like the manufacture took old pallets apart, and used the pieces to make couch frames

so I was able to mount the shakers on the lower frame (if you can call it a frame) so it shakes the one's butt, but not one's back...

suggestion for making your own ht couch with bass shakers... make sure you have a good frame on the back section for mounting the bass shaker.

I heard that you needed to mount the Shakers to a base (board under the couch) that way you get a more uniform feel or better build a platform for the couch to sit on and the shakers inside of the platform.

I was going to do something like that, but ended up just mounting directly to the frame...
perhaps I can add additional support by doing this base method ;o)

I am using an old pioneer prologic receiver at about 50% volume (think it was rated 110 W x4)

Well it sounds like you have enough power to drive them, surpirse the couch held up to the thumping from the condition of the couch as you put it.
