    Bipolar speakers
    Hello,

I am thinking of building some bookshelf speakers in the next year or so, how much more difficult would it be to make them bipolar? Or should I just forget that idea?

It defeats the point of a "bookshelf" speaker. With a bi-pole speaker you are trying to get a defused soundfield, as opposed to the pinpoint imaging that a good bookshelf would give you. My CSW S300 speakers have a bi-pole setting, but that is used strictly for HT surround duty. Depending on the configuration you also would have to place them out in the room more than a normal bookshelf speaker.
