    Adcom Motorized Pot. - Help

I have an old Adcom GTP-500 Tuner/Preamp that I dealry love. It still works great. My remote control died and I get a new one, JP-1 and programmed to run the ADcom. However, the motorized volume control does not work and I need to determine if the programming of the remote is faulty or if the volume control motor is bad. The volume control still works is i manually turn the knob.
Suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

If you have a dc voltmeter, or can borrow one, you should be able to connect it right across the motor terminals at the back of the pot. When you press the remote, you should get around 5 volts at the terminals. If not, then the problem is probably not the motor.
