    acoustic research specialist??? need help!!!
    Hi there,
I have a set of acoustic research 12 spekers. They are older speaker but worked very well in the past years. They were stored for a few years and now I took them out to see what I can do with them. It looks like I need to buy a few new parts for it but I don't know if they are worth it. it has one tweeter one mid range and a 10" sub. I'm not a speaker specialist but I do enjoy good quality sound. Let me know if you know anything about these speakers. It seems like I need a new foam ring around the sub and new mid ranges for sure. I don't know about the tweeter. The model # is AR-12CHope someone can help me out. Thanks

You probably just need to refoam them. You can order kits from PE or madisound or have a company do it for you. I'm sure the speakers are probably fine, just the foam surrounds are probably bad/rotted/etc.

Can you refurbish a mid range adn tweeter to make them like new or do I need to buy new ones? Are they worth the money?

I just called Thompson who bought AR and they have no idea where I can get parts for the speakers or what the part numbers are for the replacement parts. This leaves me in somewhat of a dilema....
