Yamaha receiver question

I am setting up a Yamaha HTR-5560 for a friend. We have S-video from the
receiver to his projector (for dishnetwork) and component video direct from the
DVD to the projector.

My question is the composite video from the VCR (no s-video output).
Does the receiver allow you to input composite and output s-video?

This theater is built and the projector is a good 35-40ft from the
receiver, so running another cable is really not an option.

I looked at specification, and it seem that it doesn't support video up conversion.

So you might need one of these. Using the adaptor, just plug in your VCR to receiver's s-video input.
