Greetings:

I am a first timer poster here, but the subject title gives away my age. Why would anyone want to fool around with 35 year old seperates, with all the shiny flashy gear is available?

Well, I do!

I am no audiophile, but I know what gets me going. A big, honking power amp that I scored for cheap. I am pairing the TA-3200F with a TA-2000 pre-amp, feeding into a pair of Cerwin-Vega D-9's. All this so that I can show my teenager what rock and roll is supposed to sound like.

I realize this is probably not the ultimate, or even the best matched set-up, but it is what I have to work with. I would appreciate any comments on the components, especially the Sony amp/preamp. Anyone have any good/bad experience with these?

Thanks,
Barry

The Sonys were good back in the day and probably still sound good. I am not too wild about Cerwin Vega speakers, but if you like 'em, who cares? I am using a twenty year old amp and speakers (Hafler, Boston Acoustics). I will use them as long as they last. Peace.
