Onkyo's telling all who will listen that they have a 'future proof' hometheater receiver. I guess if the future is defined as five years they might be right. But calling anything future proof is a ballsy statement. At 4k I think I'll pass.

By "future proof" they are obviously referring to the flash memory. Parasound has had this feature on their C2 for over a year now. I think it's great to be able to download future formats instead buying a whole new machine. Still, for $4K I'd be doing separates all the way.

I bought a "future proof" HT Processor a number of years back for $5,000.
Before the warrenty had expired I bought ANOTHER "future proof" HT Processor
which replaced the first, this time it was only a mere $6,500. Since then the
company has folded. Can anyone "Proceed" to quess what company I talking
about????

Ouch, that's a lot of money. I feel your pain, although my experience with that type of pain isn't audio related.
