Has anyone ever used any cable boosters (Radio Shack brand) when splitting cable to two or three different TV's? If so, any noticeable improvements or just a waste of money?
Oh! one more question, can these boosters damage the TV (new Sony LCD)?
Any help on this would be of much help. Thanx.

A "line amplifier" or "cable booster" as you're calling it, is very limited in what it can do for you. It can prevent signal degradation that occurs when the cable is split (if it's placed in the signal line before the splitter). It cannot do much of anything however to "improve" a cable signal that is poor to start with.

As far as "damage" to a TV ... No, there's no danger there. So, if your cable signals are acceptable with only one set - but are unacceptable when the signal is split to feed more sets, then yes - a line amplifier can be used to bring the signal quality back to where it was before it was split.
