I think I'm polishing my tarnished comp reputation- the last couple I've doled out actually got a couple of positive responses.

Anyhoo. This one's called Pontiac Limo, for reasons you'll find in the liner notes.

Disc 1

song/band

Breakin'- The Music
Life Less Ordinary- Carbon Leaf
Jim's Lament- Shiner
Staring At the Sun- Simple Kid
Untitled 1- Keane
Don't Think- Lali Puma
If You Tell Me The Truth I Will Kill You- Styrofoam
Seed- Afro Celts
Love Will Tear Us Apart- The King
Nowhere Again- Secret Machines
The Believer- Chris Thile
Help Me Fix My Bike- Up Up Down Down, etc.
Golden- Jill Scott
She Gave Me Away- Minor Majority
Radio- Pity Sing
Mr. Man- Gov't Mule
Let's Get Busy- Guitar Shorty
Losing You- K's Choice
We Used To Be Friends- Dandy Warhols
Dawn On A Funeral Day- Tsunami Bomb

Disc 2

Do You Like Me- Milosh
Neighborhood #4 (7 Kettles)- Arcade Fire
Hollywood- West Indian Girl
October 17, 1989- Kissing Tigers
Carnival Kids- The Futureheads
Here I Am- The Explosion
Torture- King Khan And His Shrines
Wicked And Weird- Buck 65
Happy Happy- Spooky Daly Pride
Walk Idiot Walk- The Hives
Cadence- Amberlin
Up And Go- The Starting Line
I'm A Sucker For Backwards Drums- The New Trust
In The Air- Linky
An Olive Grove Facing The Sea (live)- Snow Patrol
A Man And A Woman- U2
Suffocate- Finger 11
Los- Rammstein
Watching The Sun Come Up- Ed Harcourt
Radiapathy- Velvet Teen
Redcoats- The Divorce
Try Honesty- Billy Talent

The styles are mixed, altho there's almost no hard rock, rap or prison songs. It's not a best of 2004.Includes an interview with the creator of the mix, Finch Platte. Also contains deleted scenes not seen in theaters! Almost 3 minutes of bonus footage! Laser-etched graphics!

Want one? Lemme know. I have a couple of extras. I don't care if you can trade, or if you just got something (disc-wise, smart ass :p ) from me.

Edit: No idea why it's Astonishing.

Jim's Lament- Shiner

Cool. Do you have one (or more) of their albums? I have The Egg, and I like it, but it doesn't capture their live energy. Jar, Rae, and I have talked a little bit about Shiner, and I'm looking forward to hearing that track.

Nice call on those Finger Eleven and Billy Talent tracks. And this morning, I just added that Keane album to my wish list.

I'd like a copy please. And although I know that you never require anything in return, the Law of Reciprocity rules...I should have a few things to send you in return, shortly.

Tanks.

The disc I have is called lula divinia. The sticker on it says, "Kansas City's Shiner deliver HEAVY, melodic indie music like that of HUM, CASTOR, FAILURE and UNWOUND."

It really seems to be something I'd like, but I haven't listened to to it enough, yet. Still, I'd like to check yers out. If I boin you a copy of mine, will you do the same?

Thanks-

...Simple Kid's Staring At The Sun, so I don't have to Google 'em later.

Well I started out strong and my hopes were high
Figured on being like Bonny and Clyde
25 beers is an alibi
had to get connected
So I wrote a long letter to a government man
Told him I was born in the summer of Sam
He said son i dont think that you understand
just want to get elected
But my heart got heavy and my hair grew long
Had to take a job just to get along
I was down in the gutter below
I was down in the gutter below
As my daddy always said - sing a song
how hard can it be just to get along
He said don't go sellin your soul
said dont go sellin your soul

Hey man - you know - what's up - too slow feels like im staring at the sun
i get high - i get low - dont let you e-go
out there staring at the sun
staring at the sun

well i gotta lotta love for the modern man
i read alotta books that i dont understand
I want a lot of things that are lost or stole
just wanna hooker with a heart of gold
cuz my heart gets heavy and my hair gets long
hard gotta be just to get along
well ya dont go sellin your soul
just dont go sellin your soul
hey man - you know - whats up - too slow
feels like im staring at the sun
i get high - i get low - dont let your e-go out there staring at the sun
staring at the sun

now baby i love you
when springs in the air
but it just seems that lately its spent dancing
and smoking pot
and wondering how we got so
focked-up

hey man you know
dont let your e-go
feels like im staring at the sun
hey man you know
dont let your e-go
feels like we're staring at the sun
hey man you know
dont let your e-go
feels like were staring at the sun
hey man you know
dont let your e-go
out here we're staring at the sun
staring at the sun

Out of your whole 2 comp list, I recognize but one band and that's only because a disk was sent to me by mistake. I thought Snow Patrol was not too bad after a few listens before I passed it on to the correct recipient.

I guess these comps are best left for those in the know.

Hey, fp.
This looks like one that will broaden my horizons. Disc 1, especially looks interesting after your post of that band's lyrics.........something about smoking pot & staring at the sun.....also, the title has me completely intrigued.
Thanks-a-ton,
Bill
