I've been listening to this comp by JDaniel this morning, and I really am liking it. It has a very bluesy feel throughout, and it's great to hear alternative takes on many of these traditional songs and tons of alternatives to the usual Christmas MOR radio play.
Thanks JD. This will definately spinning at my place if we have guests over through the holidays.
I keep forgetting to post about this one. Ditto on what Barry said. Real enjoyable.
Thanks JD

Barry, Hyfi,
You are both quite welcome. Yeah, Barry, my favorite part of the comp is the alternative versions of the tunes. I especially like the Jack Johnson version of Rudolph, and Phantom Planet's Winter Wonderland.
Glad you enjoy it.

I don't know who 'newtrix' is for sure; I think its Rick (RPM).
A comp of just bass or of bass players? Anyway, send away. Ever get into that Krim stuff much?
Happy Holidays to you and yours,
I remain, Todd

Yes, half of it anyway. Larks is hard to get through without drugs, but I still put them all on every so often. I dig Beat and Discipline the most.

Bob,
About a half-dozen or so of your list is on my comp. If you want a copy, shoot me a PM with your addy. I can't promise it will arrive by Christmas though.

Hey Bob. I've got a few of those songs around here somewhere as well. PM me with your addy and I can guarantee you that it won't arrive by Christmas. But like you say, "Better later than never, eh?" ;)

I am looking for the following Xmas tracks
Everything But the Girl - 25th December.
This great song is on their great album Amplified Heart. Go get the whole CD. I can't get enough of Tracy Thorn's singing. Too bad they went into retirement. They are probably the most successful band that nobody has heard of, selling millions of CDs. I hear them in almost every store that plays muzak. Apparently, the other half of the duo, Ben Watt, is a DJ somewhere in England, content to play mixes of old EBTG hits.
