My home theater system is currently made up of a Harman Kardon AVR235 and the 5 piece Athena Point-5 speaker package (one center, and 4 bookshelves). I'm looking to upgrade the main L/R speakers and I was wondering what I need to know to make sure the speakers "match" the rest of the speakers/reciever. Should I stick with Athenas or can I go with whatever sounds the best to me in the store? I'm also wondering the same thing with regards to the sub? (Note: I'm looking to spend under $600 for the mains and sub).
Thanks in advance for any help.

Matching center speaker with L/R is very critical. So having said that, Bestbuy have 8" 2-Way Floorstanding Speaker Athena Model AS-F1 on sale for $99 each ($150 regular price). This week only :)

and spend all the money on the two front speakers. Your reciever has a phantom mode which if no center is present, will create one....if your fronts imagine well you will not miss it. Plus, you have a nicer set of fronts....this at least provides another option.
A good sub is hard/impossible to find for your budget (with front speakers) so as i mentioned earlier find some nice floor stading speakers and do without the center and sub, then when funds open, buy a nice sub or look for used subs.
