Last night I finally had the pleasure of seeing a band that I have loved forever, Kansas doing thier 30th anniversary tour. The Keswick only holds a few thousand skinny people in the seats. It does seem that the resoration fee that is included in the ticket price is paying for the liquer license and not for an upgrade of the 50 or so year old seating. Acousticly, the Keswick is a notch above most venues but hardly any of the bands that play there understand that louder is not better. All that aside, I still love going there for intimate shows.

The show opened with a comedian named "Sudsy". Never heard of him but he was funny.

I missed a few on this list and it's out of order but they played these tracks

Song For America
Hold On
Magnum Opus
Icarus- Born on Wings Of Steel
Bringing It Back(from mexico) - Down The Road medly
Carry On My Wayward Son
Point Of Know Return
Dust In The Wind
Plus a few more

Barely an hour and a half show. The poor guitarist, with his eye patch, kept tripping over his cord. The bass player appeared to aready be dead and showed absolutly no enthusiasm for my money. The fiddler was awesome and most entertaining while that little guy on keyboards still had about 85% of his voice. Drums were good but too loud.

I sure expected this band to play for at least two hours with thier long list of classics and deep cuts. It would appear that one or all of them was way past his geritol tranfusion or maybe beddy bye time.

If you like Kansas and haven't seen them....it's not too late.

Glad you finally got to see Kansas. I've seen them a couple of times in the last five or six years. Each time that I've seen them, they haven't played long (90 minutes plus an encore at the most), but they sure play hard.
