Hi I'm trying to set up my first HT system as a poor college student. My issue is that I have the Cerwin-Vega AVS-5.1 speaker system

http://www.cerwinvega.com/products/homeaudiovideo/AVSseries/avs51.html

They are 4-Ohm speakers but I've read alot of reviews where people have said they didn't have
trouble running them. Would I be ok with lets says an entry-level Denon or Yamaha receiver
that's not be rated for 4 ohms since the speakers are not very large?

EDIT- Specifically looking at receivers such as Yamaha RX-V550 or Denon AVR-485S

levels.

To be honest, size of speakers have nothing to do with it. My MB Quart are about the size
of Paradigm minin monitors. My Quarts are 4 ohms at 85db. The db's is what make the
amp work. We are in the same boat. I'm replacing my Denon AVR1800 with NAD T753.
The Denon worked but did not make my speakers really sing like they should.

Just about any receiver on the market will run your Cerwin Vega speakers just fine.
