Hey i have powered sufwoofer and it makes this buzing sound, so i figured "meh" ill return it for a new one. The new one makes the same sound (a little bit louder), so i figured must be interfearence causing it to hum i tried it in 3 different sockets in 3 different rooms still hums like a bizatch. Any suggestions? This humming sounds eating through my head!

Does it do it with nothing plugged into it? ..or does it only do it when it's connected to the receiver? It it's the formar, it's a subwoofer issue only. If it's the latter, I'd suspect a ground loop.

Would you mind telling what brand/model the sub is?

Actually, the last time this happened to me, it ended up being fixed by replacing the subwoofer cable with shielded one.
Yes, it surprised me, too.

Unhook the CATV from the system (wheather it is plugeg into the VCR or the TV).
90% of the time this is the culprit. If it is you will need a Magic by Mondial. This fixes the cable grounding problem without degrading the signal strength of the CATV.
Otherwise it is a bad interconnect, uncommonground (sub on different circuit than stereo), or Gremlins.

The hum with my subwoofer was the same as dusty chalk's. I was using a very crappy rca cable to connect the sub to the reciever. After I replaced the sub cable, the humming went away.
