I have a sony CDP-CX205 200 CD changer that started having a little problem. It's got one of those "cute" little jog dials (just a rotary knob) that you use to flip through the cds. Well, whenever I use it now it skips around a lot. Under normal operation it is supposed to move up in CDs (say from CD # 78 to # 79) when moving the dial clockwise and down for CCW. Well, when I move it, say clockwise, now, it will move up and down sporadically. For instance, it will move from 78 to 80 to 85 to 83 to 84 to 82 to 86...
I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or a similar one with a "jog dial" device. I'm guessing it's just a variable resistor of some sort, so I wouldn't mind taking it apart & trying to fix it. Only problem is when I put things back together I always get spare parts  Thanks.
