Supposedly you can use the RS232 (serial) connector on the back the AVR 630 receiver to go online and get updates (fixes, DPLII to DPLIIx....

Does anyone know how to do this? Do you need to connect your receiver to the serial port of you pc or what?

Thanks all.

their website, do a search from your model and there is a contact email to fill out. They will respond in a timely manner and can determine if your receiver quailifies for the upgrade. I've had great success contacting them with my questions. Plus, its FREE! Well, i guess you paid for it when buying the unit.

Be sure to let the board know what you find out.

Hmm, I thought the port on the HK was for Home integration applications. That's pretty cool if you can upgrade it that way instead of havng to open it up and swap boards.

Harman's reply is "The software upgrade for the AVR630 is not yet available. The
delivery format has yet to be announced. The Main function of the
RS232
port is for home system automation and programming. The receiver will
not be able to access the internet for downloads. As soon as the
upgrade is available, information will be posted on our website
regarding how to obtain and apply it. Please keep checking the website
for the availability of the software upgrade."

I'll keep ya'll updated when I find more out.

THanks.
