speaker wire question

Im buying wire for my front speakers which will be probably 6-8 foot runs. Im looking at Canare star quad wire. The 4s8 ends up being the equivalent to 13gauge, but I can only get in a minimum of 50ft which I don't need. The 4s6 ends up being equivalent to 17gauge and I can buy it in the length I need. Would this be a big enough cable or should I get the 50ft and just have a bunch of extra to collect dust?

Star Quad cables are excellent choice for speaker wire. For 6-8 feet, 4s6 will be just fine :)
