I'm currently converting to home theatre. Just bought NAD T753 recceiver & DVD T533.
Looking at this JVC tv Sears has on sale for $850.00.
Does HDTV mean it is automatically progressive scan? Will it matter?

Don't think I fully understand the question but the bottom line in plain English is if you have HDTV you want to watch your DVD's in progessive scan DVD player for a better picture and most name brands such as JVC just produced progessive scan DVD's after 2002 (probably earlier). If your DVD player/receiver came out after 2002 it should be OK. You should be able to check this on google and/or Amazon.com by listing the model number.

Mine has a "L-P" swithch in the back. You have to move it over to "P" for progressive scan.
