Folks, not sure if this belongs in this forum or not, so apologies up front if this is misdirected...
I'm trying to track down anyone with thoughts/experience on an old receiver, a Harmon Kardon hk1680. Here's what she looks like, and some info from someone selling one on eBay, the one I obtained locally was cheap ($30) and seems to be working fine.
My issue has been finding specs, speaker output etc, and if anyone has used it and liked/hated it.
Any info would be appreciated.
*would help if I included the link 'eh*

You may want to post in a vintage audio forum such as at Audioasylum.com.

Hello gd!
I haven't heard one of these and a cursory search turned up nothing, not even at HKs' website. The auction claims 100 wpc, no lightweight there!
I will say that the older-than-yours 630 twin power, which I have kicking around, and others in that series are fairly well regarded so unless HK screwed the pooch it should be pretty decent.
I agree with James, post around, AA is good and also AudioKarma.org .
Good Luck, I'm sure for $30.00 it's a good deal regardless, the auctions' already at $169!

Here's a link to product specs and manuals:
http://www.harmankardon.com/product_support/support_detail.aspx?prod=HK1680&sjump=ps&#active
http://manuals.harman.com/HK/Owner%27s%20Manual/HK1680%20om.pdf
It says no specs were published with this receiver...

poneal,
HOW did you find that?! I was all over hks' website.
No specs, even in the manual, hmmm. Did they lose them, or is it for some reason intentional? I'm not a conspiricyist!

The manual itself wasn't to hard to find on the HK site, the lack of specs is what's bugging me. Wondering if anyone has ever played with one of these, run tests etc to determine true wpc, I'd simply like to put well matched speakers on it before I wire it up....
