 So I bought the new Prodigy CD yestreday, dropped it in the cd tray, pressed play and Holy Crap, no sound. My normal listening level is around -20db, I only started to hear sound in and around -5db mark. Well at this point I'm already freaking out, and start to play around with the settings. Sub was OFF, so I turned it ON, and all of the sound was there. Switched it back OFF, once again muted sound. Played around some more, this time with the auto set-up EQ, and all is well again even with the sub ON or OFF.
Has anyone come across this problem before?
Thanks!
Sometimes, if you are using an optical cable, it won't be fully inserted giving a momentary loss off sound. Optical cables are not known for having a great connector.

Well, I have only tried this during CD playback (analog RCA cables, old CD player). I played around with it again yesterday and this is what it did.
With EQ setting ON ( normal, front, flat,. etc.)
In Pure Direct Mode, Sub ON = full sound
In Pure Direct Mode, Sub OFF= muted sound
With EQ setting OFF
In Pure Direct Mode, Sub ON or OFF = full sound
I'll try with DVD playback (digital RCA) when I get a chance. I just think this is kinda weird. Has this happened to anyone else?
Thanks
