Alright I figure I should give as much information as possible seeming I dont know THAT much about all of this.
This is a link to the system I got.

problem is my TV ( 19 inch Symphonic TV from about 6 or 7 years ago) only has Coax input on the back. What I was doing was running the Composite video out to a VCR and then VRC to TV however one in ever three DVDs resulted in the screen fading in and out and jumping to make it so you cant enjoyably watch the movie.

So in an attempt to fix things I got this:

But luck has it for me when I have things setup like this

TV antenna > VCR > modulator > TV
with
DVD >(via S-Video) modulator > TV
I have it set to run on channel 3, and I am able to watch TV. But when I turn DVD player on the red light on modulator comes on and the screen goes to the "fuzzy screen" and I hear sound (because it doesnt go through TV).

before I had the setup of:
TV antenna > VCR > TV
with
DVD > aux 1 VCR
that worked except for the occasional movie where the DVD has the "you cant run this through a VCR player because you are trying to steal my movie" code and causes the flickering fading screen.

I dont want to buy a new TV but if thats all i can do. can anyone else say hello pawn shop. However I would like to think that there is a cheaper solution ie: I got the wrong type of modulator or I need some other type of hardware.

thanks.

I just ran my DVD into my VCR via analog and I never had a problem.

Note: I picked up a 36" Magnavox at Circuit City for $399. Yes I could have bought a better TV but there were decorating considerations.

You really need a newer, better TV set with the necessary "video inputs" into which you can connect a DVD player. You should have consulted with someone knowledgable about your situation before you spent the $15 on the "RF modulator" since it's totally useless to you - it's redundant to what you already have in the VCR!

There is a device which would solve your problem, but it costs over $100 - money which would be much better spent toward a new TV set (or even a newer used one).
